FFOX Heaven and Earth BBMF Natural

The Arturo Fuente Aged Selection FFOX Heaven and Earth BBMF Natural is, for many people, a “unicorn” cigar. It’s one you hunt for a year in and year out, but have trouble ever getting a hold of. Even just one can be difficult to track down, let alone one of those gorgeous Prometheus-made boxes in glossy veneer.

This, of course, is normal for OpusX cigars. Ever since the line was blessed as Cigar Aficionado’s 2005 Cigar of the Year, it has been a cult hit. It flies off the shelves. Or it would if it ever made it to shelves. Fuente OpusX cigars are usually presold out before they get stocked anywhere, especially in these rare blends.

The BBMF Natural cigar is part of the “Heaven and Earth” series of OpusX blends. These are an even more rare version of a stogie that’s already sharply limited in supply. Heaven and Earth special edition OpusX cigars are made with the Fuente family’s rarest aged tobaccos. The leaves used are hand-selected from the vault to form the very finest OpusX smokes on earth.

So with that in mind, let’s meet the “Big Bad Mother F***er,” aka the BBMF Natural cigar.

As with other OpusX blends, the cigar is built around a core of exquisite Dominican long-fillers. The finishing touch is a shade-grown Dominican Chateau Fuente wrapper leaf, cultivated from the first sprout to be one of the most flavorful tobaccos on Earth.

The look of the BBMF cigar is unmistakable. There’s a ponytail twisted cap at the top and an alluring nipple tip at the foot. To start things off right, there’s also a touch of Maduro leaf there as well, offering complexity and a hint of sweetness as an introduction to a cigar that grows more complex thereafter. A cut of Maduro at the head also offers the same taste to your lips.

The Fuente BBMF cigar is an experience.

Creamy oak and pepper will likely be the first notes you detect in the smoke, which is milky and fills a room easily. Draw along, savoring the flavors as you encounter dried fig, cinnamon, and that signature Fuente leather. This is one of those cigars that set the standard so high that everything else becomes a little muted afterward. It’s one of those favorite cigars that you only get to smoke a few times a year, but when you do, it’s an otherworldly experience.

The BBMF Natural is one of the very best cigars Fuente has to offer, and that’s saying quite a lot.
