You may not be familiar with the Los Statos Deluxe brand, but we have a feeling you're going to be close acquaintances moving forward. Believe it or not, the name dates back to 1940s Cuba, and was later repurposed for the American market in 2012.
Looking to refresh the brand for the contemporary cigar enthusiast, parent company, Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG), partnered with Matt Booth, creator of the beloved Room101 brand. After two years of development, not only has Los Statos Deluxe emerged with a dramatically different look and feel, but Matt Booth has joined the STG team, taking his Room101 smokes along for the ride.
Matt Booth's vision for Los Statos Deluxe is unrecognizable from former iterations of the brand, boasting clean and vibrant branding, paper-sleeve tubo packaging, and an all-new tobacco recipe. The cigars are rolled at STG's famed HATSA factory in Honduras, showcasing an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and fillers of Nicaragua and the DR. This makes for a medium-plus-bodied smoke, offering punchy yet not aggressive flavors of earth, raw cocoa, French-press coffee, and dark cabinet spices.
